xmWEB™ was designed for a variety of environments:
In a Service Desk environment, xmWEB is accessed from one or more computers where customers and/or staff request work to be done by phone or in person. The person staffing the service desk uses xmWEB to create and submit work requests to MicroMain XM™. The service desk person can also give status updates to customers and staff for work that's in progress.
Examples:
A reception desk at an office building, apartment complex or other facility where tenants can request services.
A front desk at a service company where customers may request services.
A help desk at a corporate office where employees may request services.
In a User-Direct environment, xmWEB is accessed from all of the computers. Anyone with a browser and access to xmWEB can then use it to create and submit work requests to MicroMain XM. They can also view the status of their work requests to see what progress has been made.
Examples include the following:
Single or multi-campus facilities, such as a university or school district, where faculty or staff can request services from a centralized maintenance department.
A corporate headquarters where employees can request services directly from the maintenance department.
A retail chain where managers can request services from a regional maintenance facility.
Sometimes a combination of the Service Desk and the User-Direct environments are used to make maintenance facilities more efficient. In these situations, xmWEB is accessed from a service desk where people can request work and from the computers of other users so that they can create and submit their own work requests directly to MicroMain XM.
xmWEB gives you the flexibility to customize your work request environment to suit the unique needs of your maintenance facility.
